Victor Stephens was called to the bar in British Columbia in 1956. He practiced law for many years in various fields including personal injury before forming the partnership of Stephens and Holman in 1983 and devoting himself exclusively to plaintiff’s personal injury law.
Prior to his call to the bar, Mr. Stephens obtained a BA at the University of Alberta and attended Law School at the University of British Columbia. In his storied career, Vic has practiced law in Courtenay as well as in the New Hebrides (now Vanuatu) where he was appointed by the British Government as a Native Advocate. He was elected as an MLA for Oak Bay – Gordon Head in 1979 when he was leader of the BC Conservative party.
Vic was a member of the Track and Field team at UBC and has been active in coaching other track and field athletes. He is the former BC mile and half mile champion as well as the former U. S. masters mile and half mile champion. At one time he held the Canadian record in the 3000 meter steeplechase. He enjoys off shore sailing, sports fishing and holds a private pilot’s license. He recently celebrated his 47th wedding anniversary and has 3 children and 4 grandsons. Mr. Stephens is currently a non-practising member of the Law Society of British Columbia.
